Happy Thanksgiving!

The Britts had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Riis and Mommy started our day with a 10 mile Turkey Trot around Honolulu. Kate and Kellen came with us and were super helpful. Kate fed Riis on the way down and Kellen helped me push for the first 5 miles. Riis was getting fussy during the last mile and a women running next to us started to sing to her. Too cute!

Once we got home Riis and Mommy made pie and sweet potato casserole for the 2 potlucks we were attending. We listened to Christmas music and tried to sing along. Riis loves Christmas music! We also had time to skype with Uma and family, Mema and family, and Grandma and Grandpa. What lucky girls we were.

Daddy came home and we went to Uncle Ians for dinner. Riis was such a good girl and ate soooo well! Check out the makeshif highchair Daddy fashioned together.

We stopped by Kellen, Jean, Noelle, and Hillary's house for dessert. Riis got to play with Thelma's 2 year old granddaughter, Zayla. Riis is almost as tall as her and even pushed her over :(

We were home by 8, Daddy gave Riis a bottle and cuddled, and Riis was fast asleep by 8:30.

Morning Routine

Every morning Riis wakes up and I bring her in my bed to cuddle for a few minutes before breakfast. Riis eats breakfast while Mommy pumps milk for her snack. Sometimes we Skype with Mema and sometimes we just sing.

After breakfast Riis gets a quick rinse in the kitchen sink and then it's off to her rooms to change her into her outfit for the day. Mommy tries to put her in some sort of pant so her knees don't get hurt from all the crawling she does. Usually Riis hangs in her crib and reads for a while after she is dressed.

Sometimes she would rather help Mommy get ready. No longer is the Pack and Play a fun place to be. Riis would rather brush her teeth or her hair, while sitting in the bathroom sink watching Mommy get ready.

What a fun way to start our day!

Riis and Daddy Get a New Toy

Daddy came home last night with a bike seat for Riis. Tonight he came home after working overtime with a new helmet for Riis. They got ready and went for a night ride. Riis likes to ride around with Daddy. I cannot wait for tomorrow so we can go out and ride/run as a family!

Halloween

Riis' First Halloween

Riis was Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween. Mommy was brainstorming all of the possibilities for our little red head, and let's just say there are many more great ones to come! Mommy bought the fabric at the thrift store and sewed the cape. We have everything else around the house. Mommy was the grandma before she was eaten and Can was the grandma after.

Ashton and Christian came over to play along with a bunch of Riis' aunties and uncles. Riis and Ashton got along so well. Playing, licking, and rolling around were their 3 favorite things to do. Riis has a baby she just cannot get enough of lately. So, needless to say she was super excited to see Christian and wanted to play with that little guy so badly.

Camping

Riis' First Camping Trip

We took Riis on her first camping trip last weekend. We went up to Peacock Flats with Uncle Kenny Hi, Aunt Jean, and Uncle Kellen. It was a nice, peaceful, cool, and fall-like trip.

The ride up took about an hour and half and was super bumpy. Tom and I were commenting on how we were happy we did not take Little Miss Riis up sooner.

We went on a hike, ate food over the fire, and shared funny stories with friends. Cano and Rockie had fun too!

Pumpkin Picking

Riis' First Pumpkin Picking Day

Two weeks ago we went to the only pumpkin patch in Hawaii to pick pumpkins. We were lucky that it was in Kapolei and was only 20 minutes from the house.

We started by trying to take some pictures of Riis standing next to and sitting on big pumpkins. I have never seen her so scared!

Next, we went to pick out pumpkins to bring home. We got a big daddy pumpkin, a mommy pumpkin, and a cute little Riis pumpkin. We learned from observation and exhaustion that we need to bring a wagon next time.

Daddy put the pumpkins in the car and we went to the petting zoo. Riis was more scared of the little pigs than we thought she would be. Daddy stuck with it and they ended up having a nice time in there.

Riis' favorit part of the trip was the roasted corn. It was so sweet and warm. Riis ate every last bit!

Very scared (the first thing she has been noticeably scared of)
