1 Month

So Riis is one month old. At her one month check up she measured in at 11 pounds 3 ounces and 22 1/4 inches
She is just the best little angle we could ever have asked for. Riis sleeps for 5-6 hours during the night and is up every 2-3 hours during the day to eat and make super sweet faces at us.
We have many nicknames for her. Tom calls her: Shortcake, The Sweed, and Honey. I call her Honey Bunny, Baby Girl, and Lil Sunshine.
Our favorite time of day is at night after Riis' bath. We put her on our bed and have "family time." This is when we read to her (we read My Daddy and I, Count My Kisses Little One, and a book of nursery rhymes.) Tom also likes to play with her and have her practice running and working on her volleyball moves. He pumps her legs and says, "run, run, run, run, run!" and then makes her bump, set, and spike, spike spike! I love watching them play together.
We started cloth diapers once Riis lost her belly button stump. It has been way easier than I thought it would be. The only time we use disposables is when we take Riis out. She has been to Costco, Babys R Us, Target, Savers, Genki Sushi, Ross, and Chili's.

23 days and a Ladies Day In

Riis is 23 days old today...well tonight at 8:02pm she will be 24 days old. We invited all of Riis' aunties over today for a lunch date. It was so nice to all spend time together and catch up. One of Riis' aunties is expecting twins in a few months and it was great to share stories and do some good baby talk with her and Renee, our seasoned mommy :) We ate really yummy food everyone made and brought from one of my favorite restaurants, Dixie Grill. All the girls brought over food I could not eat during my pregnancy, which was sooooo sweet! I ate raw fish, soft cheese, and even had a mimosa (after I fed Riis) yum! Here are some pics
of Riis and all of her aunties.

20 Days!

Riis is now 20 days old and we could not imagine life without her. Our favorite thing to do right now is to bring her into bed and read to her before she falls asleep. We read nursery rhymes (in Hawaiian and English) and  some other books we have picked up along the way. Riis has been out a few times. We have gone to Babys R Us, a yogurt shop, Costco, to my school, and to a meeting for PALS. We have had only one incident when she blessed an auntie with poo (on her very pretty all WHITE linen outfit!) We have not been as good as I had wanted to be with pictures, but I am determined to get better and start taking more pictures of our beautiful baby girl. Here are a few:

Mema and Riis say goodbye till February

Love the headband! One of Riis' aunties gave it to her at PALS. I put her in the car to take her home, she is usually so happy in the car. She cried the whole 10 minutes home, I could not understand why. When I got her out, the band was over her eyes!!!! No more head gear in the car :)

Still a little mad at Mommy
